Mrs. Petsche’s kindergarten class is learning State Standard KCCC6 “Identifying numbers greater than, less than, or equal” and we they are learning how to do so in a fun hands or “feet” on way. The 0-30 class size number line was donated by a mother of one of our students. They enjoy using the class size number line during math and math center time. One student will stand on a number, their partner picks a number and tells the student one more or two more, the student jumps one or two numbers forward or backward. Next the students sit together and write the number sentence on their whiteboards, for instance, 3 plus 2 equals 5.
They really enjoy learning with the hands on experiences in all subjects!
