I am very excited and honored to be the principal at West Monona Elementary! I taught elementary and middle school special education in Mount Ayr, IA, and Gilbert, AZ for eleven years. Then I became the assistant principal and athletic director at Cooley Middle School in Gilbert, AZ for two years. In 2017 my family and I moved to Onawa and I served as the middle school principal and activities director for West Monona. I currently serve as the PK-8 principal and activities director for the district.
As I add elementary duties, I am excited to connect with more students and parents in the West Monona community. I have a strong belief in structured teaching, high levels of student engagement, and individual responsibility. It is my belief that we need to provide a structured, safe, and caring environment for all students. The PBIS philosophy provides a framework for our expectations, teaching of those expectations, positive reinforcement and corrective actions for being a Spartan STAR.
Our expectations are:
Always do your best
I will strive to make West Monona Elementary an environment built on dignity and respect for all students, staff, and stakeholders. We will create a positive and safe environment where all students can grow and meet their full potential. If you have any questions, concerns, or positive notes please don't hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 712-433-1393.
