West Monona Scholastic Art Awards

Congratulations are due to these Spartan artists, as they have won recognition in the 2021 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, presented by Belin-Blank Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development.

Their personal letters of recognition contained the following:

“This is a remarkable achievement for you. Your work was recognized by a panel of creative professionals as the most outstanding work submitted among your peers.

Since 1923, the Awards have recognized some of America’s most celebrated artists and writers while they were teenagers, including Tschabalala Self, Stephen King, Kay WalkingStick, Charles White, Joyce Carol Oates, and Andy Warhol. We are proud to count you among these esteemed Scholastic Awards alumni!”

The Scholastic Art and Writing Midwest Region-at-Large is managed by the Belin-Blank Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development, in Iowa City.

Novie Stanislav (’23) was awarded two honorable mention awards for her digital photography.

Talor Bryan (‘22) and Miella Struble (’22) each received a Gold Key for their photography.

“Gold Key works have been automatically advanced to the national level of adjudication in New York City. National Medalists will be announced on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.”

Congratulations Novie, Talor, and Miella on having your works compete regionally and nationally!
