Due to the regional softball game being moved up to a 5:00 pm start this afternoon, the 8th grade eligibilty meeting for today will start at 7:00pm in the auditorium instead of the originally scheduled 5:30pm.

Two informational meetings and discussions regarding 8th grade eligibility for high school sports will be held in the auditorium on Wednesday and Thursday (July 8th and 9th) at 5:30pm for interested parents and community members. A quorom of the school board may be present on both dates but there will be no deliberation or action upon any matter within the scope of the Board’s policy-making duties during these meetings.

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ TRACK UPDATE 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Good news, Spartan Nation! The resurfacing project at the West Monona High School track has been completed, and the track is now OPEN for community use once again. We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation throughout the construction process. The improvements will provide a safer, higher-quality surface for our students, athletes, walkers, and runners for years to come. As a reminder: ✅ Walkers and runners are welcome to use the track. ❌ Pets are not allowed on the track or athletic fields. ❌ Bikes, skateboards, and motorized vehicles are prohibited on the track surface. Good morning Spartan Nation! Another busy week for our softball and baseball teams. Kicking us off today, will be JVR softball at Home at 11:00am. There will be two games this morning. Please see the schedule for the remainder of the week!

West Monona is working to create an archery club for students to begin sometime during the 2026-27 school year. As we work on development of this club we are looking for individuals who would have interest in becoming a volunteer coach. The district would provide training and background checks for those selected as coaches. Please contact the high school office at 712-433-2043 with your name and contact information if interested.

West Monona Boys basketball is hosting a camp on July 6th & 7th at the high school. The camp is for West Monona boys and girls going into grades 6th, 7th, and 8th, and boys and girls in high school. The cost of the camp is $80 per kid, and that covers both days. Each group will go for two hours per day. Basketball Trainer Shane Hennen will be running the camp for us this year. Shane has been a basketball trainer for the past 6+ years, he has a huge following on apps like TikTok, Instagram, and Youtube. Parents can register their kids at www.wmyouthsports.com under the basketball tab. Parents can also reach out to Coach Holverson at 712-420-9911 to register or with any questions. The dates are set and the times for each session each day are pending and will be sent out as soon as those are finalized.
