**Clarification on New COVID Athletic Restrictions**
Only household members of the athlete plus grandparent(s) are allowed to attend West Monona home athletic events along with all 9-12 West Monona students. The household members, grandparents, and 9-12 students are allowed to come for any game, and stay for all games. In addition, the athlete is allowed to CHOOSE if he/she would rather use two (2) tickets instead of the household, THE ATHLETE CAN NOT CHOOSE BOTH. We apologize for any miscommunication. Any 9-12 West Monona student to either sit with the household or in the student section.
Spectators are now permitted to come to any game and stay for all games
All students in the student section are required to wear their mask at all times.
Masks are still required for everyone to enter the building and while watching the games.

**MS Girls Basketball Schedule Update** The West Monona @ Woodbury Central MS girls basketball game has been moved to Monday (1/18). The games will still be at 4:00pm and 5:15pm. Please follow the leave time Coach Halbur and Coach McCall has already set. GO SPARTANS!!

***ATHLETIC SCHEDULE UPDATE***Due to the cancellation of school on Friday (1/15), the West Monona vs. Lawton-Bronson JV and Varsity G/B basketball games have been pushed to Saturday (1/16) at the same times. Starting at 4:00pm with girls JV, 5 pm boys JV, 6 pm varsity girls and 7:30 pm varsity boys. Both JV games will be full games. Please remember, previous restrictions still apply to this game.

**MS Boys Basketball Game** Because of the inclement weather expected tonight in Dunlap, the MS boys basketball game has been postponed to a later date.
**MS Girls Basketball Game** Because of the inclement weather expected tonight in Moville, the MS girls basketball game has been postponed until Monday, January 25th.
The Middle Schools girls basketball game tonight against Westwood will be shorten to 6 quarters due to the number of players. The game will still start at 4:00pm. GO SPARTANS!!!
Spartan Softball is quickly approaching!!! Any girls in grades 8-12 interested in playing softball this year is asked to attend a softball meeting this Wednesday (1/13) in the High School library at 9:30am. GO SPARTANS!!!

your students in the Elementary building. We are lucky to have partnered
with Burgess Mental Health again this school year, and have a certified
mental health therapist that comes to the building to meet with our students
every Tuesday. In an effort to help support our students’ mental health and
emotional wellbeing, we feel we are very lucky to have this opportunity
available in our district.

It is the priority of the Western Valley Conference to ensure the safety of all participants and the ability for them to finish the season. Due to the late notice regarding event attendance from the Governor’s Office the Western Valley Conference will continue to use guidance previously in place for middle school and high school events until January 17th.
Previous guidance:
Spectator rules include players, cheerleaders, dance teams and coaches
Masks and social distancing required.
Districts are only allowed to provide tickets to the members of the household that the athlete/performer reside under the same roof with OR two tickets. Not both for one athlete. If a family has a household attend the game, they are not permitted to give 2 additional tickets to others for that participant.
If a family has two participants, they get two allotments and are not limited to a single household.
A student who is living in two homes would be allowed to have passes for members of both households. If a participant has a divided household (i.e., the parents have joint custody), both halves of the family are part of the participant's household. They are both households for the participant, when viewed from the participant's vantage point.
Spectators will need to leave once their participant(s) are finished competing for the night.

The Spartan wrestling team is in Lawton wrestling in the Lawton Quad. The JV and Varsity boys and girls crossed the river to battle the Tekamah-Herman Tigers. Notice: Every grade that meets their monthly ticket goal for January will get to participate in an indoor snowball fight! If your child(ren) have 1 major or 5 minor star trackers they will not be eligible for the snowball fight, if their class meets the ticket goal.
