Happy New Year Spartans!
School resumes for students tomorrow, January 4th. We will have a regular start time at 8:20 for our first day of 2023.
The HS Girls Wrestling Meet in Sheldon tomorrow has been canceled. We will not have practice tomorrow, January 2nd. We will practice on January 3rd at our normal time, weather permitting.
Reminder that elementary students are invited to wear pajamas to school today.
High School Schedule for 12/21/22
8:00 = Teacher Prep
9:00 = Bus arrival with students.
9:30 = Period 1 Test - All period 1 classes test.
10:30 = Break
10:40 = Period 2 Test - All period 2 classes test.
11:40 = LUNCH - only one HS lunch
12:10 = Period 3 Study Hall: HS students don't have to stay -- Open Campus. Those that stay will go to their 3rd period class.
12:30 = Dismissal
-Period 3, 4, and 5 tests are canceled.
West Monona Community School District will still have it's normal 1 hour Wednesday late start. High School/Middle School will start at 9:20 AM. Elementary will start at 9:25 AM.
West Monona will be dismissing at 12:30 tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, December 21st due to the winter storm warning.
**6-12 WINTER CONCERT DATE** Due to the expected weather Wednesday night, the 6-12 Winter Concert has been postponed to a date in January. The new concert date will be announced in the coming days.
Happy Tuesday Wolves!!! The Wolves are back in action tonight at Kuemper Catholic in Carroll with wrestling starting at 4:30. *PLEASE NOTE* Kuemper is a cashless gate, no cash will be accepted at the door. ALL TICKETS must be purchased online at: https://www.gobound.com/ia/schools/kuemper/tickets. GO WOLVES!!!
The buses are running about 5-10 minutes late today. Students will be slightly late getting to their bus stops this evening.

With the forecast wind chill temperatures of -35 below all day on Thursday, we are going to cancel school for Thursday, December 22nd. Making this announcement now is intended to let classes complete end-of-semester activities before the break and allow families adequate time to plan.

Happy Monday Spartans! The Spartan basketball teams are back in action tonight at Boyer Valley (Dunlap). NO JV Girls tonight. JV boys will start at 4:15, varsity girls at 6, and varsity boys to follow. There is no JV wrestling tonight, that meet has been eliminated. GO SPARTANS!!!
Happy Saturday Spartans and Wolves! The Wolves are heading south to wrestle in the Shenandoah Tournament, wrestling starts at 10:00 am. The Spartans are heading north to wrestle in the Elk Point/Jefferson Tournament in Elk Point, SD with wrestling starting at 10:00 am. GO SPARTANS and WOLVES!!!
Spartan Fan! The West Monona Dance Team will be performing their state pom routine during the boy's halftime & their state contemporary during the girl's halftime! GO SPARTANS!!!
Happy Friday Spartans! The Spartan basketball teams are back in action tonight at home vs. Bancroft-Rosalie! *TIME CHANGE* The JV boys will be playing at 4 with the JV girls to follow. The varsity boys will be playing first tonight at 6 pm and the varsity girls will follow and start around 7:30. GO SPARTANS!!!
Spartan Community, the Elementary Winter Concert is tonight (12/15) at 6:00 pm at Ooten Auditorium inside West Monona HS/MS. Reminder, the 6-12 Winter Concert is next Wednesday (12/21) at 7:00 pm. GO SPARTANS!!!
Spartan fans! The JH boys and girls basketball teams are back in action today. The JH girls are traveling to Woodbine. They will play 6 quarters, starting at 4:00 pm. The JH boys are at home vs. Whiting. They will play 1 game, starting at 4:00 pm. GO SPARTANS!!!
**Athletic Schedule Update** Due to the weather conditions, the conference wrestling meet that was scheduled for today in Kingsley has been postponed to January 23rd at the same time. GO SPARTANS!!!
*6-12 Winter Concert Update* The 6-12 Winter Concert that was originally scheduled for Tuesday, December 20th has been moved to Wednesday, December 21st at 7:00 pm.
**Athletic Schedule Update** Due to the current weather condition, the HS basketball games in Holstein has been postponed until January 24th. GO SPARTANS!!!
The elementary winter concert will take place on Thursday, December 15. Kindergarten & 1st grade will perform at 6:00. 2nd & 3rd grade will perform at 6:45. 4th & 5th grade will perform at 7:30. Students should arrive 15 minutes prior to their concert time. Thank you.
