"Would you tell your girls and boys BB coaches of the EXCELLENT sportsmanship shown by the coaches and their players during the games I officiated last Friday, Jan. 21 at Kingsley-Piersen. Your school and community should be proud to have such individuals teaching their kids. Your fans also were excellent. It was enjoyable to officiate the games." Great job SPARTANS!!! This is a true example of SPARTAN PRIDE!!!

SPARTAN GAMEDAY! The #3 seed Spartan girls are set to take on the Wildcats of Woodbury Central at home tonight in the first-round of the Western Valley Conference tournament. Tip-off is set for 6:00pm. Varsity only. GO SPARTANS!!!
SPARTAN MEET DAY! The #15th ranked Spartan Wrestling team is in Treynor tonight in a state-ranked team dual matchup! The Spartan will battle Treynor, Riverside, and the #5th ranked Logan-Magnolia. Wrestling starts at 5:30pm! GO SPARTANS!!!
WVC Brackets are set! The Lady Spartans are the #3 seed and the boys are the #5 seed. The Spartan girls will host Woodbury Central on Thursday at 6:00pm (Varsity Only). The boys will be in Moville to battle Woodbury Central on Friday (JVR at 6, Varsity at 7:30). GO SPARTANS!!!
Reminder, the forms for the Junior Class Valentine Rose fundraiser are due back by Friday, January 28th. Forms can be picked up/dropped off at both the HS and the Elementary offices or can be sent to Audrey Ingram at audrey.ingram@westmonona.org.
Congratulations to the West Monona Large Group Speech Team!!! Over the weekend the Spartans were in Denison to earn a spot at State Speech. With the success in Denison, the Spartans will be sending 4 teams to the State Speech Competition in Spencer, IA on Saturday February 5. Great Job Speech! GO SPARTANS!!!

West Monona High School will cancel our 7:00 a.m. Zero Hour Advanced Health Topics class tomorrow morning (1/25/22). Note: All other classes and buses will run as normal for all grades and buildings.
Reminder… There will be a preseason softball meeting today (Monday) at 3:15pm in the HS gym. Any 8th grader through 12th grader interested in playing softball this summer is encouraged to attend. GO SPARTANS!!!
