The Spartan Varsity/JV boys will be in Ida Grove tonight in the first-round of the Western Valley Conference tournament to square off against OA-BCIG. The JV boys game will start at 6pm with the Varsity game to follow. Spectators are allowed to stay for both games. HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS OF THE ATHLETES WILL NOT NEED TICKETS. They have however allowed additional spectators to attend. West Monona has 35 tickets available for tonight's game for the community and 35 tickets available for any student. If you wish to attend, you will need to stop by the West Monona Middle School office and pick up a ticket. These tickets are on a first come first serve basis. GO SPARTANS!!!

Congratulations to the Spartan wrestling team over the past weekend. Your Spartans are the 2021 Alta-Aurelia Tournament Champions. The Spartan wrestling team is back in action tonight for their last home quad of the season. Tonight is Youth Night!! Wrestling action will start at 5:30pm. Happy Friday Spartan Fans!!! Congratulations to the Spartan wrestling team last night going 3-0 in the West Monona Quad. Wrestling is back in action on Saturday at the Alta-Aurelia Tournament. Attendance for the tournament is open to the public. The Spartan G/B basketball teams are back in action tonight at home against Kingsley-Pierson. KP girls are coming into tonight’s match-up as the Western Valley Conference leaders and as the #3 ranked team. Attendance restrictions are still in place. Tonight is Jersey Night. We will have a special performance during both the girls and boys halftimes by the West Monona Dance Team. GO SPARTANS!!!

Tonight is Senior Night as we honor the seniors on the wrestling team and the wrestling cheer squad. Starting with tonight as the MS girls are in Moville vs. Woodbury Central and the JV/Varsity boys and girls basketball teams battle Logan- Magnolia. JV girls game is set for 4:00pm. **Clarification on New COVID Athletic Restrictions**
Only household members of the athlete plus grandparent(s) are allowed to attend West Monona home athletic events along with all 9-12 West Monona students. The household members, grandparents, and 9-12 students are allowed to come for any game, and stay for all games. In addition, the athlete is allowed to CHOOSE if he/she would rather use two (2) tickets instead of the household, THE ATHLETE CAN NOT CHOOSE BOTH. We apologize for any miscommunication. **NEW COVID RESTRICTIONS FOR ATHLETICS**
Starting Monday (1/18) West Monona will be allowing:
All household members of the athlete plus any grandparent(s)
Any 9-12 West Monona student to either sit with the household or in the student section.
Spectators are now permitted to come to any game and stay for all games
All students in the student section are required to wear their mask at all times.
Masks are still required for everyone to enter the building and while watching the games.

**MS Girls Basketball Schedule Update** The West Monona @ Woodbury Central MS girls basketball game has been moved to Monday (1/18). The games will still be at 4:00pm and 5:15pm. Please follow the leave time Coach Halbur and Coach McCall has already set. GO SPARTANS!!

Any parent planning on having their child participate in the cheer clinic and they haven't got their forms turned in, please contact Audrey at the email or phone number on the registration form so shirts can be ordered. All registration is due by Sunday (1/17).
***ATHLETIC SCHEDULE UPDATE***Due to the cancellation of school on Friday (1/15), the West Monona vs. Lawton-Bronson JV and Varsity G/B basketball games have been pushed to Saturday (1/16) at the same times. Starting at 4:00pm with girls JV, 5 pm boys JV, 6 pm varsity girls and 7:30 pm varsity boys. Both JV games will be full games. Please remember, previous restrictions still apply to this game.
