We wanted to inform you of additional services and support available for your students in the Elementary building. We are lucky to have partnered with Burgess Mental Health again this school year, and have a certified mental health therapist that comes to the building to meet with our students every Tuesday. In an effort to help support our students’ mental health and emotional wellbeing, we feel we are very lucky to have this opportunity available in our district. If you are interested in having your child receive services and additional support, please contact our Elementary Counselor Mrs. Schirman to start the referral process. It is the priority of the Western Valley Conference to ensure the safety of all participants and the ability for them to finish the season. Due to the late notice regarding event attendance from the Governor’s Office the Western Valley Conference will continue to use guidance previously in place for middle school and high school events until January 17th. Previous guidance: Spectator rules include players, cheerleaders, dance teams and coaches Masks and social distancing required. Districts are only allowed to provide tickets to the members of the household that the athlete/performer reside under the same roof with OR two tickets. Not both for one athlete. If a family has a household attend the game, they are not permitted to give 2 additional tickets to others for that participant. If a family has two participants, they get two allotments and are not limited to a single household. A student who is living in two homes would be allowed to have passes for members of both households. If a participant has a divided household (i.e., the parents have joint custody), both halves of the family are part of the participant's household. They are both households for the participant, when viewed from the participant's vantage point. Spectators will need to leave once their participant(s) are finished competing for the night.

With the new proclamation from the Governor: The participants' household will be allowed to enter the event that they are participating in. Split households will be included. Household will be checked off the master list as they enter the gate provided by their school. Spectators must leave after their athlete is done playing for the night. With the new Proclamation that went into effect on Friday. West Monona will now be allowing youth sports to use West Monona facilities. All outside organizations must follow the same guidelines as HS/JH sports. Masks must be worn at all times while inside the building and while attending all sporting events. Each athlete will only be allowed two (2) spectators no matter of the age, and must follow the additional requirements per the signed facility rental contract. West Monona is excited to once again have youth sports, but we ask that everyone please follow all guidelines to keep everyone safe.

Correction on the previous message. It should have said late starts instead of early outs. Sorry for any confusion.
