
Happy Tuesday Spartan Community!!! IT IS SPRING SPORT SEASON!!! The Spartan Track team is in Holstein today. The Spartan Girls Golf team will be competing in Quimby and the Spartan Boys Golf team is at home in a conference battle at the Onawa Country Club. All events will start at 4:00pm. GO SPARTANS!!!

Today is a snow day make up, for that reason we have a full school day. The elementary will be dismissed at 3:25 PM. The MS/HS will be dismissed at 3:30 PM.

Spartan Community!! The West Monona High School Speech Team will present their 2021 Speech performances at Community Night at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2021 in the High School Auditorium. This event is open to the public and everyone in the community is invited to attend! Go Spartans!!!

Happy Friday Spartan Community!! The West Monona Variety Show starts tonight! First showing is at 7:00pm tonight with 2 showings tomorrow at 2:00pm and 7:00pm. Tickets will be sold at the door. This event is open to the public! $5.00 a ticket!!

USDA FREE Food Boxes will be distributed at the Onawa Evangelical Free Church on March 20th at 10:30AM. These are available to anyone in the community on a first come, first serve basis.

Just a reminder that your student MUST have an appropriate coat, gloves, and hat to go outside at recess when it is cold out. Winter coats must be worn if the "feels like" temperature is below 55 degrees. If your student does not have proper outwear, they will NOT be able to go out to recess. Thank you.

Spartan Community!! The West Monona Variety Show is quickly approaching!! First show is Friday night at 7:00pm, with 2 shows on Saturday at 2:00pm and 7:00pm. Tickets are on-sale now!! Tickets can be purchased in the Middle School office. Tickets are $5.00 a person. Tickets will also be sold at the door.

Reminder: Temperatures are once again cooling off. Please make sure to send proper cold weather gear and proper coats with your students, so they are able to go outside for recess. Thank you.

Reminder: 2nd and 3rd grade only will have a concert tonight in the high school gymnasium. 2nd grade will perform at 5:30, please have your student to the music room at 5:15. 3rd grade will perform at 6:30, please have your student to the music room at 6:15. Parents, grandparents, and siblings may attend the event. Please wear a mask.

**BOYS GOLF** There will be a Boys Golf meeting tomorrow (Monday, 3/8) at 3:30pm in the HS Library. Any boy interested in playing golf this year, please attend the meeting. GO SPARTANS!!!

Happy Thursday Morning Spartan Community!! Just to clarify, the Middle School wrestling team will be in Schaller today, March 4, for another meet. The start time for this meet today is 4:15pm. Only 2 spectators per wrestler, masks are required. GO SPARTANS!!!

This a reminder that the West Monona PPEL renewal is on the ballot today. Polling sites are open until 9:00 PM. Below are some quick facts regarding the PPEL ballot item.
Quick Facts:
1. The PPEL vote that is on the ballot is an extension and not a new levy.
2. Approval will not result in any tax increase.
3. The current levy rate is $1.34 per $1000 of valuation. Approval would continue the levy at the same rate of $1.34 per $1000 of valuation.
4. Without PPEL funding the district will be unable to maintain facilities, transportation, and technology at current levels.

Reminder: The Book Fair at the elementary will be open every morning from 8-8:30 for the rest of the week and from 4-8 tonight and Thursday night! No appointment needed.
